Dr. Jerry Asks...
Your First Visit to Our Bountiful Practice

One of the reasons that Dr. Duggar has garnered such a reputation for helping patients where others have failed is rooted in his efforts to really understand your unique health picture. That process begins with a thorough health history. Click on the Becoming a Patient tab above to download our New Patient Packet. Please complete these forms prior to your arrival to the office on your initial visit. These forms may take up to 1 hour to complete. Please be thorough and honest.
When you arrive to our office, you'll find a warm welcome and a peaceful, "homey" atmosphere. Our staff will take great care of you and we'll get you back to meet with the doctor as quickly as possible. The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if our approach is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. Some or all of the following tests may be indicated for you although some may be scheduled for another day in the near future.
Physical Examination. The doctor or his assistant will perform all necessary physical examinations that will assist in arriving at a clear clinical picture of your condition.
In Office Assessments. We may utilize one or more high tech assessments in our office in order to better understand the nature of your health concerns. These may include:
- Insight Scans– The Nerve System is the master system of the body. Stress to that system coming from the spine has a great impact on your health. We use high-tech measurements of the functional status of your spine and nerve system to understand patterns of stress that are compromising your health. In our opinion these technologies are the gold standard for chiropractors and a baseline test is performed on virtually all new patients on their first day.
- Zyto Stress Assessment. This test utilizes sophisticated computer technology to evaluate your body based on the principles of Oriental Medicine. We routinely assess for the burden of sensitivity to things a person may encounter in their environment including allergies and sensitivities.
Testing from Outside labs/facilities. The necessity of these tests will be discussed on your first or second visit and an appropriate referral will be made at that time. All results from outside lab services will be reported to you during a private consultation with the doctor.
- X-rays– If x-rays are warranted, we will help you schedule an appointment with a local center to have the appropriate views taken.
- MRI/CT imaging. These machines are cost prohibitive for individual practitioners to own and operate so you may be referred to special imaging facilities for advanced imaging of your body.
- Blood tests. Dr. Duggar may order specific blood tests to see patterns of chemical breakdown. The purpose of these tests will not be to arrive at a medical diagnosis but to understand functional imbalances that may lead to diagnosable diseases.
- Saliva testing. Saliva is a wonderful medium to test when any hormone imbalance is suspected. Instructions will be included in a collection kit and these will be reviewed by one of the doctor’s assistants. After you collect these samples, you will be instructed how to mail them to the lab.
- Digestive testing. Many times we find that the root causes of health problems involve a primary imbalance in the digestive tract. If this is suspected, Dr. Duggar will recommend a comprehensive digestive stool analysis to further help you. If this is the case, a kit will be given to you along with instructions for collecting the specimen.
- “Take home” tests. Based on the doctor’s findings he may recommend that you monitor certain aspects of your body’s function (such as your morning temperature, daily food journal, etc) for a period of up to a week.
* Please note, except for urgent circumstances, we do not initiate treatment on your initial visit. Please understand that it takes time to arrive at a proper course of action to resolve your concerns. We don’t want to jeopardize your health and our reputation as a matter of convenience.
